Dassault Systèmes and Geico Taikisha push for mass customization in the auto paint shop of the future

Dassault Systèmes is collaborating with Geico Taikisha, a world leader in the planning and construction of automotive paint systems, in a joint initiative to improve production flexibility for automotive manufacturers in an era of increasing mass customization.

Geico Taikisha will implement Dassault Systèmes' DELMIA applications, including the Manufacturing Execution System for its Smart Paintshop, a future automotive paint shop that integrates smart, connected and strategic solutions to improve efficiency, safety, quality, cost and sustainability in the body paint industry. This will enable the company to offer an end-to-end solution to its customers to manage the challenges of the factory of the future, while delivering unique value.

DELMIA applications transform global operations through digital continuity, a shared digital environment that connects all stakeholders and improves visibility, control and synchronization of manufacturing operations and supply chain processes on a global scale. By participating in a model- and data-driven digital experience, users can establish a common set of operational processes that can be created, managed, and governed in a holistic manner, with the goal of gaining agility and expanding continuous improvement throughout the enterprise and distributed value network.

As the automotive market increasingly demands high quality products designed to order and at the lowest possible cost, flexible production models that rely on technologies such as big data and the Internet of Things allow the industry to adapt to high levels of customization and continuously innovate processes and solutions. For Geico Taikisha's customers, a digital manufacturing execution system that can be tailored to their Smart Paintshop users would allow them to rely on real-time data to avoid maintenance and improve production quality, levels and efficiency.
