Visser Precision inks agreement with EOS North America, doubles its metal 3D printing capacity

Order includes acquisition of the newly launched EOS M 300-4 metal system

EOS, the world's leading technology supplier in the field of industrial 3D printing of metals and polymers, has reached agreement with Visser Precision to significantly increase their metal additive manufacturing (AM) capacity with the purchase of three (3) EOS M 400-4 systems and two (2) of the recently unveiled EOS M 300-4 systems. Terms were reached during the International Machine Tool Show (IMTS) 2018 trade fair and with the acquisition of the EOS M 300-4 systems, Visser Precision becomes the first organization to purchase the new platform.

For Visser Precision, market demands for DMLS-quality metal AM components in aerospace, space, defense, and other industries have been some of the bigger drivers to expand capacity to a total of eight (8) serial production capable systems with delivery of the new systems expected in the next few months.

“Additive manufacturing has moved from a stage of market acceptance to a technology that is now in demand across industries in search of DMLS-quality AM. Visser Precision is an organization that can now meet that market demand through this investment with EOS. We could not be more proud that Visser Precision is the first-to-purchase our new, high-performance EOS M 300-4 system, and has also purchased our flagship EOS M 400-4 system to take their AM capacity to the next level," said Glynn Fletcher, president of EOS North America. “They are a world-class organization that is truly setting themselves apart in the metal AM marketplace."

The two EOS metal AM systems are both four laser platforms designed for serial production, with the newest EOS M 300 series designed from the ground-up for integration into a digital manufacturing environment with configurable and scalable equipment architecture while delivering a productivity increase between four to 10 times compared to existing mid-frame systems.

“Our customers require the highest-performance, highest quality components and we feel partnering with EOS – the metal AM industry pioneers and leaders in DMLS – provides us with the capabilities we need to meet market demands now and in the next few years," said Ryan Coniam, president of Visser Precision. “Nearly anyone nowadays can 3D print something in metal, the trick is repeatability while meeting and maintaining quality and our investments with EOS mean we can deliver that to our customers."
