Future Agenda announces the launch of Future Agenda 2.0, the cross disciplinary programme which brings together experts from around the world to address the greatest challenges of the next decade. The aim is to gain a more informed view of the key changes facing society. Supported by a number of businesses, academic institutions and government organisations, it is the world's largest open foresight initiative providing a platform for collective innovation at a higher level than has been previously achieved.
Future Agenda 2.0 builds on the results of the first programme that ran from 2010 - 2015. It begins by offering 20 expert perspectives addressing everything from the future of energy, data and health to water, transport and privacy. Over the next six months these points of view will be shared and challenged in over 100 workshops spread across five continents. Contributions will also be made through numerous online debates. The programme will connect CEOs and mayors with academics and the third sector. There is also a specific focus on the next generation, including collaborations with educational organisations such as the Royal College of Art in London and the British Council.
Dr Tim Jones, Programme Director said: "The first Future Agenda Programme in 2010 helped many organisations to look beyond their traditional horizons, and use new combinations of insight and foresight methodologies to make more informed choices around their business. Future 2.0 extends the ideas and engages with a wider audience in order to access a richer knowledge base. It's all about sharing knowledge in effective way."
Taking part in the Future Agenda programme has already gained the support of a range of corporate, government and third sector organisations keen to share perspectives, challenge each other's views and identify ways forward across the topics being addressed.
