Schumacher Packaging produces corona partitions with active virus protection - for an easier return to regular school operations
Schumacher Pack Solution GmbH, a company of the Schumacher Packaging Group, has further developed its innovative spit protection EcoSafeBoard especially for use in schools and other educational institutions. The new model "Education Edition" is a partition wall with active virus protection. Thanks to its antiviral coating, the board protects students from infecting each other by spreading droplets. Thus, the new partition wall supports the resumption of classroom teaching and avoids the need to wear masks during lessons, seminars and lectures. The protective lacquer contains a nanosilver active ingredient complex whose antimicrobial and antiviral effectiveness has been scientifically proven and which is already being used very successfully in medical face masks.
"Our EcoSafeBoard 'Education Edition' can help to prevent unnecessary infection and thus a renewed lockdown in school operations", emphasizes Jochen Drösel, Sales Manager (CSO) at Schumacher Packaging. "The partition not only provides comprehensive protection, it also makes lessons a little more comfortable for pupils, as they do not have to wear a mask during their entire school stay".
The original EcoSafeBoard model from Schumacher Pack Solution is now successfully in use with thousands of units in a wide variety of areas: in industry, service providers, catering and public institutions. The new model, EcoSafeBoard "Education Edition", now takes into account the special requirements of schools and other educational institutions: with an antiviral coating, an enlarged viewing window and an adapted design that makes the boards easy to mount on school desks.
"For the new model, we are cooperating with the Bavarian paint and varnish manufacturer Epple Druckfarben AG, which is based in Neusäß near Augsburg," explains Leena Gaebler, Managing Director of Schumacher Pack Solution. "The development is based on a very specific inquiry from the Bavarian grammar school Casimirianum in Coburg. We developed the 'Education Edition' for the hygiene concept of the headmaster and head of studies, Burkhard Spachmann, in line with their requirements. The gloss varnish Finishfit Microbe Protect 2400 contains an additive based on a special nanosilver formulation with a specially activated active ingredient. The antimicrobial and antiviral effectiveness of the active ingredient has been proven. The elementary silver nanoparticles firmly anchored in the paint film release positively charged silver ions which significantly reduce the number of bacteria and viruses on the surface of the paint. The silver nanoparticles can neither be released nor rubbed off from the dried paint film. The Finishfit Microbe Protect 2400 is also suitable for indirect food contact and therefore poses no danger to people or the environment.
The viewing window of the new "Education Edition" is again made of clear window film - but it is much larger than before. The larger window ensures very good lighting conditions at all student workstations and also allows risk-free visual contact from a variety of perspectives, especially to the teaching staff and to the blackboard. The frame is made of one hundred percent recycled paper. The window film can be easily removed and disposed of in the light material collection; the remaining parts of the partition wall are disposed of with the waste paper. "Our partition wall is a pragmatic and ecological alternative to plastic and glass," Drösel emphasizes. "In addition, the EcoSafeBoard 'Education Edition' is much cheaper than conventional protective walls made of Plexiglas".
Can be used for almost all classrooms and table variants
The partition walls have a punched-out section to allow them to be attached to the school desks in a stable manner and without a space-consuming supporting structure. For additional stability they can be connected to the table legs using the existing perforations. In principle, EcoSafeBoard "Education Edition" can be used in the entire education sector, from schools and training centres to colleges, universities, vocational schools and tutoring institutions.
The proven EcoSafeBoard protects teachers
The original EcoSafeBoard can be used particularly well at the teacher's desk. The basic model EcoSafeBoard is also used in rooms furnished like lecture halls with continuous tables and rising chairs.
