Landsberg mayor visits EGGER Druck + Medien

"Many impressive companies at the business location Landsberg"

The Lord Mayor of Landsberg, Mathias Neuner, and the business promoter André Köhn visited the premium printing company EGGER Druck + Medien last Thursday. The occasion was the two most recent awards for family printing company and packaging printer of the year. Together with the brothers and managing directors Josef and Xaver Egger as well as Franz Xaver Egger senior, they discussed the business location Landsberg am Lech, the printing industry, family-friendly companies, the necessity of innovative thinking and acting and the difficulty of winning trainees for productive work.

All agreed that there are many impressive companies at the business location Landsberg am Lech. Many stand out from the rest by reacting strategically and quickly to economic and technical changes, thus preparing for the future. Just as EGGER did a few years ago.

After all, in times of digitalisation, many small and medium-sized printing companies are still disappearing from the market. A family printing company that not only exists after 145 years on the printing market, but also operates successfully, is therefore a rarity. The reason for this success was also at EGGER the strategic reorientation and thus the absolute specialisation in a niche: high-quality packaging solutions in small to medium runs.

Together with many other Landsberg-based companies, the lack of renewable skilled labour is a common problem. "It is particularly difficult to find trainees for jobs in production", explains Xaver Egger. "Above all, it is difficult to imagine the various professions in the printing industry. But as soon as someone has walked through our production, they are usually absolutely thrilled.
