ARBURG Hungary celebrates 25 years of operations

• Successful: Around 200 invited guests delighted by anniversary celebrations and open house

• Interesting: Hybrid milestone machine and energy consulting capture the contemporary mood
• Well known: Arburg Hungary enjoys a good reputation on the market

Arburg has had its own subsidiary in Hungary since 1998. From 13 to 15 September 2023, Arburg Hungária Kft. celebrated its 25th anniversary in Budapest with a VIP event and an open house. A total of around 200 invited guests alongside high-ranking representatives from the parent company attended the anniversary events over the three days.
"2023 will be marked by the unique milestone of '100 years of the Hehl family company'. I am delighted that we can also celebrate another very special anniversary with the 25th anniversary of our Hungarian subsidiary," said Gerhard Böhm, Managing Director Sales and After Sales, welcoming the guests to the VIP event on behalf of the entire Arburg organisation: "The establishment of our own subsidiary in 1998 has ensured that Arburg has become increasingly well-known in Hungary and today, thanks to its strength and stability, enjoys a very good reputation in the market and industry as a whole as a reliable and competent partner."
Arburg's successful presence in Hungary
Steffen Eppler, Sales Director Europe, presented the subsidiary's success story to the guests and expressed his praise: "Arburg in Hungary is highly regarded for its technology, competence and service - and we are very proud of this. Its success, however, is first and foremost due to our customers, who have relied on us and our technology for so long, and with whom we have jointly implemented many successful projects."
Arburg delivered its first machines to Hungary 34 years ago. Back then, it worked mainly with German companies that had production facilities in Hungary and were supported by the company's headquarters in Lossburg. However, as more and more local companies came on board, Arburg Hungária Kft. was founded in 1998 as a logical next step. Gabriella Hollik, who headed up the subsidiary as a member of the initial team, successfully drove the business forward from Budapest. Then in 2017, László Csizmadi took over its management. In the subsidiary building, customer training, spare parts, service, advice and sales are brought together in an area of 450 square metres.
Exciting open house
Many years ago, Arburg created the "Juniális", an event that combines innovative applications with networking and individual consulting and has established itself as a permanent fixture in the Hungarian plastics industry. In the anniversary year, this program of practice and theory was presented at the open house on 14 and 15 September. "We presented the successes and innovations of the last quarter of a century to our many guests," says László Csizmadi, Managing Director of Arburg Hungária Kft. "One particular highlight was our Allrounder 470 H Comfort milestone machine with Multilift V, which produced bag clips made of PP live using a mould from our customer Slezak. An Allrounder 470 A with a Gestica control system was also used to make compasses from ABS. Other topics were digitalisation, automation and energy efficiency, about which we also offered expert presentations and comprehensive consulting and services."
The new "Action Plan: Energy", for example, which was presented by expert Inna Klumpp, met with great interest. This plan involves individual energy consultations including energy measurements at the customer's site and highlights many specific options for optimising energy requirements throughout the entire production process, thereby enabling costs in injection moulding production to be significantly reduced.
Strong Arburg team in Hungary
In 2014 and 2019, Arburg Hungary was awarded the title "Business Superbrand". According to the definition, this award is given to outstanding companies that offer consumers significant emotional and/or physical advantages over competitors. Currently, the team consists of 17 employees, who support this important European market from Budapest with a high level of expertise and many years of experience in sales, turnkey operations, service and after-sales. Because products are becoming more and more complex in Hungary and the need for flexibility is increasing as batch sizes shrink, it is often worth moving into automation. Together with the Arburg teams from its parent company and colleagues in the Czech Republic, Arburg Hungary also implements complete turnkey systems for efficient moulded part production. As a primary contractor, the subsidiary handles the implementation and installation, as well as the project planning in advance and the servicing of the complete production cells of its Hungarian customers.
