DCD Group appoints Former HP Director and Adviser to the British Olympic Association as Chairman

DatacenterDynamics (DCD), the global leader of B2B information services for the data centre industry, has marked its aggressive growth strategy for the year ahead with the appointment of Ian Ryder as Chairman.

Mr Ryder, who has previously held a number of Chairmanships, led Global Brand Strategy for Hewlett Packard, worked as Board Adviser for the British Olympic Association and was Deputy Chief Executive of the BCS, will take the role with immediate effect. Having worked as Non-Executive Director of DCD since January 2013, he has already established a strong understanding of the Group's positioning and priorities.

Dan Scarbrough, company Founder, will be stepping down as Chairman to become more involved in building the Group's global operations and reputation.

Mr Scarbrough commented, "As a global organisation in a fast-moving industry which recognises and rewards those who can deliver on the constant changes demanded by the C-suite management of data centre operators and owners, DCD stands out from the crowd in reputation and ability. However, in order to stay ahead and ensure a healthy future for the organisation, it was vital that we looked carefully at how we structure the Board and administration of the DCD Group going forward.

"We have enjoyed the benefits of Ian's contributions as non-exec director for the last 18 months and as we plan for the next stage of our growth, it is with great conviction and full confidence that I hand over the Chairman reins to Ian."

My Ryder commented, "I have known DCD for the last six years and its ethos, founder's values and sheer professionalism has always been a delight. I could not be happier about being asked to take over as Chairman of this world-leading organisation and look forward proudly to the next stage of our success."

DatacenterDynamics' Annual UK event will take place in London on 19-20 November.
