Arctic Paper UK is delighted to announce its sponsorship of this year's Children in Need's 'Designer Pudsey'. This new concept invited leading Fashion Houses from around the world to add their own exclusive style to a bespoke Pudsey.
Over 30 luxury labels received a box containing instructions and patterns on how to create their own 28 -inch Pudsey Bears. Alexander McQueen, Prada, Victoria Beckham and Tom Ford were just some of the designers who took part in the project.
Each one-off bear is now on show in Selfridges until they will be sold at Christie's auction house for Children in Need in November.
Arctic Paper UK sponsored the paper for the in-store leaflets and the Certificate of Authenticity to go with each Pudsey when they get sold at auction. The Lot Book at Christie's and a 'Take Home' book featuring more about how each Designer Pudsey has been brought to life was all printed on a combination of Munken Pure 150gsm, 240gsm and 300g supplied by FOC by Arctic.
The logo, visual identity and art direction surrounding the project was the work of London Design Agency Fivefootsix. Empress Litho Ltd printed all the literature and Benwells added the finishing foil blocking and screen printing to the designs.
Chrissy Stergios, Account Manager at Fivefootsix explained the paper choice: "We wanted a cream tinted stock to add a 'newspaper' impression but with the feel and prestige of a luxurious grade. The colour palette for the project was a simple combination of a special black ink with a black gloss foil. The tinted shade of Munken Pure added the third colour, bringing the designs to life."
