Agile detailed planning with the Job Optimiser from Koenig & Bauer

Advanced Planning System for Print 4.0
Optimisation of costs, makeready and throughput times, deadline compliance and press utilisation through intelligent sequence planning
Maximum planning reliability and transparency
Simple and intuitive operation
Fast MIS/MES integration thanks to modern interfaces

Intelligent production planning is indispensable for modern printing plants today, because customers are demanding ever greater product variety, fast delivery and lower prices. Agile planning and flexible processes are indispensable on the road to Print Shop 4.0, in order to be able to react quickly to changing customer requirements and to secure a competitive edge in the market.
With Job Optimiser Koenig & Bauer offers a powerful advanced planning software (APS) for the detailed planning of production sequences. Intelligent planning and optimisation algorithms automate all planning tasks for high planning effectiveness. Seamless integration with MIS and MES systems enables printers to optimise their planning process in the areas of production and logistics and thus control material flows and capacities in a targeted manner.
Efficient production planning in five steps
Faster to the perfect production plan through automatic detailed planning - with these planning functions the Job Optimiser opens up efficiency potential in everyday production:
The automated import of pre-planned production orders from the MIS provides all job information quickly and reliably. The job overview with traffic-light wizards provides a quick overview of the current production status and other information such as material and tool availability, proofs and print approvals. Quick filter functions can be used to select all production-ready jobs for detailed planning.
Machine allocation planning defines the machine resources and time windows for the individual production stages of the planned jobs. All possible restrictions and dependencies are taken into account to ensure on-time production. For a high degree of flexibility in detailed planning, the resources can be dynamically adjusted in the event of changes to the plan.
With the "Load Balancing" function, intelligent control algorithms can be used to optimally distribute the work steps to suitable printing and finishing machines to achieve an even workload and higher efficiency.
Sequence planning determines the chronological order in which the various jobs are produced on the presses. The job sequence is optimised according to print- and press-specific parameters such as coating, type of coating or automation options of the respective press in order to minimise makeready times. In the event of changes to the schedule, the order sequence and the makeready time calculation are adjusted accordingly.
The optimised order list is automatically sent to the LogoTronic MES software, ensuring faster workflows and perfect process synchronisation.
Production planning on a completely new level
The Job Optimiser is the ideal solution for automated detailed planning in print production. The production sequence is optimised with regard to printing parameters such as substrate, ink and finishing requirements, so that makeready times are significantly reduced and additional production capacity is created for further jobs. Printing plates, substrates, inks and other required materials are ready at the respective press at the planned time and in the exact sequence.
The Job Optimiser takes production planning to a whole new level. Whether web-to-print jobs with the shortest delivery times or folding carton production with a multitude of special colours and variants - here the advantages of the Job Optimiser can be exploited to the full: automated sequence planning, dynamic resource adjustment, uninterrupted production thanks to high material availability. Job Optimiser is a powerful, easy-to-use production planning software for printers and forms an integral part of Print 4.0 for boosting the efficiency of the entire company.
