Sustainability has been an important concern for printers and converters for years and will have a huge impact on printing in the near future. The packaging requirements are constantly changing due to stricter marketing regulations for food safety and environmentally friendly production. Printing on bio based and eco-friendly materials and less waste during production are also challenges that printers and converters have to deal with.

One of the young and most dynamic narrow web converters in the Benelux, Flexprinter has chosen to grow its business with a Mark Andy P7E at its modern production facility in Nazareth, Belgium. This start-up operation, which is the brainchild of owner and Managing Director Michaёl Thorrez, has chosen to focus on the roll-to-roll production of labels, pouches, sachets, shrink sleeves, and flow packs, as well as other flexible packaging.

In 2013, the BARTHEL GROUP was the first label printing company in the world to commission a TubeScan digital strobe from Nyquist Systems for web inspection at its headquarters in Essen, Germany. Nyquist Systems, manufacturer of inspection systems for narrow-web printing processes, introduced this system as an alternative to conventional stroboscope lamps. Since then, the BARTHEL GROUP, which specialises in the production of self-adhesive labels of various types for a number of industries, has followed every step of the development of TubeScan systems. Every year, the Association Technique française de Flexographie (ATF Flexo) delivers awards, or FlexoStars, to the best flexographic print work in France. In 2019, the jury honored Bobst Group and its partner Graphilabel with a gold Star for their THQ FlexoCloud (Très Haute Qualité) flexographic process.
