Guandong presents the new corporate claim and in order to be even closer to the pulse of the times, it chooses the Hashtag: #theSpecialitieSpecialist. A clear and direct message that the company wants to convey to the market: Guandong's mission is to be the specialist in specialities.
But what does that mean? The answer comes directly from the new managing director Daniele Faoro: "#theSpecialitieSpecialist is a label that we did not give ourselves, but spontaneously emerged from the market; after many years of work that we have invested in the research and development of materials with exclusive and guaranteed benefits, on the one hand, and in the creation of culture, on the other hand, in order to expand the limits of digital printing". For over 10 years, Guandong has continuously presented completely new products aimed at expanding the base of the reference market. At the same time, the technical and commercial team organises and participates in trade fairs, events and open houses throughout Europe with the aim of meeting end users and professionals not specifically trained in the field of visual communication, such as architects and designers. Digital printing is essential for these professionals to be able to offer the latest projects. They are often unaware of the potential of digital printing or of the media that companies such as Guandong have developed exclusively for interior applications and in-store furnishings. "For us, it is clear that the market is no longer just made up of stickers and banners; these products are now only priced on the basis of pricing policy," adds Faoro. "We offer solutions with added value for specific applications with guaranteed performance in terms of printability, durability and resistance. Our offer extends the limits of digital printing and enables us to break new ground. Many of these paths still need to be paved, some still need to be discovered, and others are already in the "research phase".
An approach to the market that is reflected in the innovations that Guandong has recently presented: from Mr. Bordon with his multifunctional boards to personalizable magnets, to Mr. Magnus applications for the print retail industry with compact laser and desktop systems, to the new OWV polyester, the third generation micro-perforated film that opens the door to an almost limitless number of new applications. The new OWV is made in part from recycled raw materials, making it fully recyclable and assimilable to solid waste. Guandong is very concerned about the ecological aspect. "This is a very important aspect for us and not a trend for propaganda with greenwashing based on marginal peculiarities," continues Faoro. "Environmental protection is a concept, a lifestyle: in our position, we strive to guarantee high product quality with the lowest energy costs, while at the same time rigorously recycling waste that cannot exceed 30%.
Guandong believes that the right balance must be found between recycling, product quality and energy consumption. For example, if the energy costs of recycling a certain type of resin are higher than the costs of the basic raw material, this is seriously questionable. The company applies this policy in the development of its continuously evolving product range. "It is certainly important to offer products that are in line with current market trends and if the market is flooded by the green wave today, then that is a good thing. We have been following this path for a long time and are therefore ready for a varied offer that respects our professional ethics," concludes Faoro.
