Valmet to improve container board production with Valmet IQ Quality Control System and IQ Moisturizer to Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill in Russia

Valmet will supply Valmet IQ Quality Control System and Valmet IQ Moisturizer to Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill, Jsc, in Novodvinsk, Russia. The new system will be installed on board machine BM1 to improve the overall quality of the cardboard and the cross-directional moisture profile, thus increasing productivity and profitability in operations.

The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the fourth quarter 2020. The delivery will take place in the second quarter of 2021.
The customer has been successfully cooperating with Valmet for many years and they are familiar with Valmet’s portfolio of products and solutions. The customer has been happy with Valmet’s professional team and efficient technical support.

Valmet’s delivery for Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill consists of Valmet IQ Quality Control System with scanner and related measurements and controls. With more accurate data available and new control technology, the machine can be controlled much better than before resulting in improved machine performance and end-product quality.
Valmet IQ Moisturizer system combines staggered nozzle rows, patented nozzle technology and extremely precise electromechanical actuator which reflects to customer process as optimal performance, reliability and transparency. Nozzle pattern layout and nozzle design guarantees full coverage of the web with precision to correct even smaller scale moisture issues. Together with high precision electromechanical actuator and Valmet IQ CD (cross-directional) Control the improvement can be predicted and the control speed and the accuracy optimized. The design of valve and nozzle flow channels combined with continuous actuator position feedback increase the reliability of the system with transparency to the operators.
