Truepress Jet L350UV+LM opens the door to the food label market

Screen today announces that Baker Labels, a leading UK label print provider, has purchased a Truepress Jet L350UV+LM to expand its application offering and increase capacity for its existing print line.

According to Steve Baker, Managing Director at Baker Labels, the company decided to invest in the Truepress Jet L350UV+LM based on the results of its previous investment. He explains: “With the uptime, reliability and quality we’ve experienced with our Truepress L350UV press – in combination with the industry leading speeds of up to 60 metres per minute – investing in the L350UV+LM was an obvious choice to expand our capacity.”
Using low migration inks, the Truepress Jet L350UV+LM is engineered to produce premium labels that are compliant with the strict safety standards of food packaging. This allows Baker Labels to differentiate its offering, sharpen its competitive edge and enjoy a new revenue stream.
Baker explains, “With over 45 years’ industry experience, our customers expect the highest quality with the quickest turnaround times to meet the needs of their own customers. It’s imperative that we continue to invest in solutions that ensure we can exceed customer expectation and remain at the forefront of the label market. Our L350UV+LM enables us to do just that by expanding our remit into the food labels segment.”
Equipped with a chill roller, the Truepress Jet L350UV+LM opens-up new substrate options. Thin substrates that are heat sensitive and can deform are stabilised and cooled. This ensures that Baker Labels can maintain quality and increase its application options.
“This allows us to further enhance our existing product portfolio and cater for the drinks and cosmetic label markets,” says Baker. “Our Screen presses are the key to unlocking the door to new innovations in the label industry.”
Bui Burke, Screen Europe Senior Vice President Sales, concludes: “We are delighted that Baker Labels has once again invested in our market-leading solutions. This is a testament to our technology which is being increasingly adopted by the labels market. We anticipate that the Truepress Jet L350UV+LM will become the standard for the food labels sector.”
