Mailing and Marketing Solutions to enhance short run full colour campaign and paper-wrapping capabilities with UK’s first Ricoh Pro VC70000

Mailing and Marketing Solutions (MaMs) has chosen the UK’s first Ricoh Pro VC70000 high speed inkjet system to deliver short run full colour campaigns on the broadest range of media possible.

The Leeds, northern England, full service printer specialises in posted communications and paper-wrapping of subscription magazine mailings. The investment will deliver a more environmentally sustainable approach to the latter by replacing poly-wrapping with fully recyclable and bio-degradable paper. The wraps can also now carry personalised or targeted off-the-page advertisements.
Anthony Krajniewski, Director, MaMs, says: “The quality we can achieve is fantastic in itself but, coupled with the advantages of personalised messaging and short run, fast turnaround production, we feel that this moves the business forward strategically. The ability to print on standard, non-specialist coated or uncoated papers makes a world of difference to a commercial printer today. With our world leading capacity within paper wrapping, our client base required us to find a solution for short run full colour campaigns. The new Pro VC70000 provides this option. It is commercially more viable than traditional offset printing.”
The Ricoh Pro VC70000 was developed to accelerate the transfer of offset print volumes to digital. Its groundbreaking, international award winning, 43 patent holding dryer, quickly evaporates moisture. This makes a compelling commercial case as it enables high resolution printing at 150 metres per minute on a much broader media range including offset coated papers. Its extended colour gamut also ensures output is now practically indistinguishable from offset printed products. It will provide MaMs with the ability to cost effectively produce high quality print that meets the demands of high speed production applications such as direct mail and critical communications.
Eef de Ridder, Vice President, Commercial and Industrial Printing Group, Ricoh Europe, comments: “We are delighted that MAMS is the latest print service provider to recognise how the Ricoh Pro VC70000’s innovative technology delivers a mix of stand out quality at class leading speeds. Drying has always been at the heart of the inkjet media, quality, colour and speed challenge and Ricoh has achieved the right balance with the Pro VC70000 engine as our recent PIA InterTech and EDP awards demonstrate.”
