Screen has been awarded "Research Presentation Encouragement Prize" at the Japan Society of Printing Science and Technology

Improving the quality of flexible packaging inkjet printing by applying image processing technology
Screen has received the "Research Presentation Encouragement Award" for 2021 from the Japan Society of Printing Science and Technology for the image processing technology for flexible packaging inkjet printing developed by Screen Holdings.

The "Research Presentation Encouragement Award" is given to outstanding research presentations made at the annual spring and autumn meetings of the Japan Society of Printing Science and Technology.
The award-winning technology will be used in the new Truepress PAC 830F water-based inkjet printing press for flexible packaging, which is scheduled to be launched by SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co. The Truepress PAC 830F is a water-based inkjet printing system for flexible packaging, which uses a large number of inkjet printheads to produce a wide range of print quality at high speed and without uneven density. In addition, due to the high degree of difficulty in transporting thin film, colour registration accuracy has been an issue. By applying image processing technology, which is one of our core technologies, we have developed technology to correct unevenness of thread and density, to reduce misregistration between colours, and to check misregistration intuitively and quantitatively. This enables precise adjustments to be made while keeping costs down, thereby improving the quality of flexible packaging inkjet printing.
In recent years, the flexible packaging and printing industries have accelerated their efforts to achieve the goals of the SDGs. As a company that contributes to the sustainable development of society, we are committed to providing products and services that are friendly to people and the environment, and are actively involved in sustainable management.
