SCREEN Truepress Jet520HD+ Responsible for Securing One Million in Annual Revenue Just Prior to Being Installed in Ohio

SCREEN Americas announces the installation of the Truepress Jet520HD+ to Graphic Village of Cincinnati, Ohio. The press is the first continuous roll-fed inkjet printer for the full-service printing company, which serves high-profile clients in the financial services, education, nonprofit, restaurant, and healthcare industries. Installed in April 2023, the Truepress Jet520HD+ is expected to assume 20 percent of Graphic Village’s print production in direct mail, transactional, book publishing, and commercial applications.

Founded in 1921, Graphic Village employs 225 employees across four cities in the Midwest: Muncie, Louisville, Chicago, and Cincinnati—the company’s headquarters, where the SCREEN Truepress Jet520HD+ is located. Its executive chairman, Eric Kahn, who bought the company in 2013, began investigating roll-fed inkjet technology after making an initial investment in cut-sheet inkjet technology. He met with SCREEN Americas at the annual Digital Packaging Summit in 2019 and followed up with a trip to SCREEN Japan in January 2020 to pursue a global partnership. Three years later, he invested in the Truepress Jet520HD series.
“SCREEN offers great technology at a great value,” said Kahn. “We are looking forward to assigning the HD to more programmatic work and plan to reserve our cut-sheet devices for the shorter runs. We believe this will make us more competitive.”
Kahn is excited to expand into new markets using the Truepress Jet520HD series and the company has secured a new account worth one million dollars annually on account of acquiring the press. He expects the technology to eliminate bottlenecks in the facility’s workflow and increase speed-to-market capabilities as well as eliminate the need to hire multiple press operators.
Under Kahn’s leadership, Graphic Village has received several awards in printing excellence from Graphic Media Alliance, a graphic arts association serving Ohio, Michigan and northern Kentucky.
