The best wood ever printed at Ligna 2023 - Hymmen presents its latest and its established surface technologies

At Ligna 2023 in Hanover, Hymmen will be presenting its latest developments in surface technology on stand F28 in hall 26.

Even though face-to-face exchanges at trade fairs and conferences have picked up again in the past year after the pandemic break, Ligna 2023 is the first event where the relevant market players in the woodworkoff and decor industry from all over the world come together again at the same time on one date.

"We are delighted to finally be able to explain our latest developments and proven technologies to the international audience again in face-to-face discussions," summarises Dr René Pankoke, Managing Partner of Hymmen.
At the fair, Hymmen wants to build on the recent successes of its digital printing technology on an international level. In the last 12 months alone, 6 new JUPITER digital presses with Digital Lacquer Embossing (DLEplus) technology have been sold (see link to YouTube-Fim). This means that there are now over 50 JUPITER digital printing systems in operation. For the flooring industry, Hymmen has developed three possible finish options: Viscoelastic topcoat (AC5 Taber S42), corundum (falling sand) or wearlayer lamination. All surfaces convince with 100% synchronous pore structures.
A wide variety of digitally finished materials - including the flooring installed on the stand - can be viewed up close and touched. "The best wood ever printed" sums it up well: It is difficult to distinguish the floorboards finished with the award-winning Digital Lacquer Embossing (DLEplus) technology from real wood. With the help of a graphic, the individual process steps of the production are explained to the interested visitor. In addition, film recordings show the production in real operation.
Of course, the experts from Hymmen will also be available for discussions on the proven press technology, liquid coating, calendar coating inert and laminating systems, as well as on the digital printing of decor paper with water-based inks using the SATURN Digital Printing Line. Samples of end products manufactured with these technologies are available for explanation, as are film recordings of production systems in real operation. Double belt press technology in particular has enjoyed unbroken attention in the laminate production market in the recent past: In the 2022 financial year, Hymmen alone had 6 continuous HPL lines in its order book. The double belt press can be celebrated as the "grande dame of the wood-based materials industry", as it is already looking back on the completion of its 4th decade of life.
The combination of process expertise with the manufacturing know-how of individual components from gluing to multi-daylight presses to conveyor and handling technology at Hymmen has already led to individual plant projects in the field of engineered wood in the past. "The positive feedback from our customers and the market's desire for significantly higher automation and efficiency has now prompted us to expand our involvement in this market sector," explains Pankoke There will be an opportunity at Ligna to discuss more details on projects that have already been successfully implemented and the possibility of new project planning.
Another focus on the stand is equally relevant for all Hymmen-owned as well as external machines and plants. "This is the smart2i Industry Intelligence solution, for cloud-based monitoring and analysis of all relevant process parameters to optimise the entire production," summarises Dr René Pankoke, owner and CEO of Hymmen. One will be able to experience the live application of smart2i in real time at the trade fair stand. This is done via virtual access to real production data.
Hymmen is happy to take advantage of Deutsche Messe's offer to possibly draw the attention of completely new business partners to its offerings by means of guided tours: On Hybrid Tour 1, entitled "Transformation of Woodworking", Hymmen will be participating with its Industry Intelligence solution smart2i, while Tour 3, "Intelligent Surface Processing", will showcase Hymmen's Digital Lacquer Embossing (DLEplus) technology.
