Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe has announced the availability of its latest NEC MediaPlayer purpose-built for digital signage applications. Pre-installed on the NEC Raspberry Pi Compute Module at no additional charge, the MediaPlayer software features advanced customisation capabilities suitable for digital display boards in retail, digital menu boards, corporate communication displays, and more. Sharp/NEC has also validated the new NEC MediaPlayer with Matrox® Maevex 6100 Series multi-channel encoders, enabling digital signage installers and integrators with a high-quality AV, end-to-end streaming platform over LAN, WAN, and internet.

Merck today announced a € 20 million expansion of its OLED (organic light-emitting diode) manufacturing capacity at its sites in Pyeongtaek, Korea and Shanghai, China.

Shuttle presents digital signage display with biometric technology

Shuttle is expanding its product portfolio for vertical markets with a digital signage display in a long bar-type format. Under the designation D230, an immediately usable signage player has been specially designed for shelf advertising in retail outlets. An integrated camera allows the display of target group-specific content through biometric recognition. The bright 23.1" screen can be divided into up to four segments that communicate different advertising messages directly at the POS.

screenFOODnet celebrates its 20th anniversary

The Swiss digital signage market leader with 27 employees is 20 years young. When the Lucerne company laid its foundation stone in July 2000, there were neither flat screens nor USB sticks.
