For many years, the globally active cutting die manufacturer Marbach has been offering its customers a special protective plate that permanently compensates for unevenness in the cutting die and thus ensures significantly reduced make-ready times. From now on, this technology is also available for large-format machines with a split die plate under the name DZL|plateXL.
Marbach Sales Manager Jan Brunner: "The job-specific zone finishing eats up time and money. It has to be done for every single order. That's why we have been offering the DZL|plate for diecutting machines with one-piece protection plates up to 7-format for several years now. This digital zone compensation does not have to be carried out for each individual job, but lasts for several months. Due to its great success, we naturally did not want to withhold this technology from our customers with large-format machines for die-cutting corrugated board. That's why the DZL|plateXL is now also available for large-format machines with a split protective plate."
Once inserted into the die-cutting machine, the DZL|plateXL permanently compensates for system-related tolerances in the die-cutting platen over several months. This is in complete contrast to the conventional method of zone finishing, which has to be carried out again for each individual job. This reduces make-ready times and increases productivity in packaging production.
