The MBO CoBo-Stack destacking robot was introduced to the market 2.5 years ago. In the meantime, there are already more than 90 units in the field. Nevertheless, MBO is constantly working on further developing the cobot.
The CoBo-Stack takes over the physically strenuous unstacking of folded signature stacks from the delivery onto the pallet in print shops and bookbinderies. These are the latest features:
Stacking of two signatures on one pallet
For efficient processing of short runs, two different signatures can now be stacked on the same pallet. Since the CoBo stack has two pallet positions (on its left and right side), up to four different signatures can be set down automatically without the operator having to intervene in between.
XS gripper enables even wider range of paper formats
For most printers and bookbinders, the CoBo stack gripper in size M is sufficient to set down their products. The M gripper can handle products in the format range between 155 mm x 210 mm and 235 mm x 340 mm. For even more flexibility in print finishing, MBO has three more gripper sizes in its portfolio. The XS gripper was developed most recently. All in all, with the four grippers (XS, S, M and L), all products in the format range between 95 mm x 148 mm and 260 mm x 340 mm can be automatically deposited from the delivery onto the pallet with the CoBo stack.
Stacking weight increased to 8 kg
Until now, the gripper of the CoBo-Stack could handle product stacks of up to 6 kg. Now, optionally, up to 8 kg is possible. This is particularly interesting for heavy products such as adhesive-bound brochures and catalogues.
