Horizon at the Hunkeler Innovationdays 2023

Following this year's event motto "Next Level Automation", Horizon will present innovative finishing technologies for networked and automated digital print production at Hunkeler Innovationdays 2023.
All the solutions on show are connected to iCE LiNK, the cloud-based workflow service. This allows job progress and status reports to be viewed in real time and KPI analysis data to be used to optimise production.

Connected to Hunkeler's new Gen8 production systems, automated finishing workflows are created:
Smart Binding - Case Binding Preparation
This roll-to-book solution combines the iCE Binder BQ-500 with the new components ESF-1000 attachment feeder, GF-500 gauze unit as well as the iCE Trimmer HT-300. Thus, both softcover books and book blocks for hardcover production can be produced. Job changeover between the two product types is fully automatic.
Smart Stitching - booklets from the roll
Thanks to continuous feeding by Hunkelerer unwinders and cross cutters, the iCE StitchLiner Mark V achieves a production speed of 6,000 booklets per hour. Job changes with different booklet thicknesses are carried out without makeready times.
Smart Binding - Roll-to-sheet solution
Automated job changes and flexible book production of short and medium runs with loose-leaf collections: Experience the inline connection of iCE Binder BQ-500 and book block feeder LBF-500 to a reel-to-sheet solution with new transfer station from Hunkeler.
Smart Folding - Direct Mailings from the Roll
Highly automated inline system for the production of direct mailings with integrated coupons and reply cards. Simply packaged: the flyers coming out of the AFV-566F buckle plate folder are automatically stacked into handy packs.
Standalone solutions
The following stand-alone machines will also be on show at the stand of Horizon's Swiss sales partner Gietz: iCE Folder AFV-566FKT, iCE Trimmer HT-300, BQ-270V and CRF-362.
