Certified for long-term archiving: Canon imagePROGRAF iPF TX-3000 and TX-4000

- Purchase security through certified printers

- Print and store legally binding documents in a document-proof manner
- target groups: Authorities, offices, architects and others

The Canon large format printers iPF TX-3000 and iPF TX-4000 have received the PTS certificate according to §29 DONot from the Papiertechnische Stiftung. The certificate attests that the prints are suitable for long-term archiving. This is an important argument for authorities, offices and all companies that still need to access legible documents even after years of storage. The large format printers, which can also be used to print architectural and cadastral plans up to a width of 111.8 cm, for example, are currently the only models on the market that are certified in this way. The TX-3000 is available from specialist dealers for 5,250* euros, the TX-4000 for 5,900* euros plus VAT.
What does "document-proof" mean?
The Papiertechnische Stiftung, or PTS for short, based in Heidenau, Germany, issues certificates for devices that are checked against the following criteria:
1. properties of the printed characters
2. surface properties of the prints
3. resistance of the printed characters
4. resistance of the paper
The Canon TX-3000 and TX-4000 have fulfilled all these characteristics and as the first large format printers in this field, they can now be used for the production of original documents, for the execution and certified copies of notarial deeds and for printing other documents in accordance with § 29 DONot.
These archiving features are also useful in the CAx (computer animated) sector. Especially in the case of cadastral plans or planning approvals that end up in the archive after a certain period of time, the use of printers with PTS certification is recommended.
Canon imagePROGRAF TX-3000 and TX-4000 in detail
With a small footprint of around 1.4 meters wide for the TX-3000 and almost 1.6 meters for the TX-4000, the printers also fit into smaller offices. Further features are:
- Maximum print width TX-3000: 91.4 cm
- Maximum print width TX-4000: 111.8 cm
- Maximum print length: from double feed roll up to 350 m
- Print head width: 2.7 cm for even printing
- LCD touch display for easy operation: 7.6 cm, coloured
When it comes to security aspects, the printers score points with access control via user rights and system access as well as hard disk encryption, complete hard disk deletion and encrypted data transmission. The driver optimized for Autodesk AutoCAD is particularly interesting for CAD users. This also applies to the media configuration tool, which can be used to personalize the printing environment.
