Contex Celebrates Milestone with Top-Selling U.S. Distributor

National / AZON enters second decade distributing Contex large format scanning solutions; Attributes success, longevity to a trusted team and popular scanning solutions

Contex, the world leader in large format scanning, today celebrates the decade-long milestone with its top U.S. distributor, National / AZON. Based in Detroit, AZON is a leading distributor of technology for the reprographic, graphic arts, and sign-making markets.

The company has been selling Contex large format scanners since 2010 and setting records ever since— even during the world’s pandemic. On the partnership's tenth anniversary in 2020, Contex’s array of scanning solutions helped to meet the changing landscape, especially as the demand for home office, specialty, and archiving requirements increased.

“With trusted scanning solutions, our amazing team, and excellent network of resellers, we’ve been able to establish ourselves as the go-to distributor in the country for Contex scanning solutions, ” comments Rich Gigl, Senior Vice President, National / AZON. “It’s a pleasure working with everyone at Contex, and we look forward to the next 10 years!”

“National / AZON is a star distributor for Contex. Their dedication to their reseller channel makes them a highly sought-after partner. They are able to identify opportunities and provide solutions, like the market-winning Zero Turn Scanning Productivity Center they designed for Contex scanner operators,” comments Steve Blanken, General Manager, Contex. “We look forward to continuing the partnership with them.”

In 2017, AZON launched the Zero Turn Scanning Productivity Center for Contex large format scanners. Zero Turn is a single-footprint holding table for scanning large format documents. It utilizes vertical space to achieve one-touch document handling and greatly increases scanning throughput and profits for high-volume projects.

Contex has a strong R&D department driven by customer and market feedback. Its scanners are used for a wide range of applications including CAD and engineering, document archiving, maps and GIS, artwork and photos, book scanning, and more.
