Hinojosa relies on solutions from Aicomp to help them become more competitive by accelerating their digitalization strategy.
Hinojosa, a leading packaging manufacturer with 13 plants in Spain, France, and Portugal, was looking for an experienced partner for their digitalization strategy in 2020.
Hinojosa chose Aicomp because of its experience with SAP solutions for the packaging industry and its position in the market. The project started in May 2021 after an extensive analysis in Q4 2020.

A core requirement of the project was to replace the existing system landscape of AS400 applications and Access in order to meet the increased demands from the technical departments and sales. One of the biggest challenges here was to map the cross-plant transfer of semi-finished and finished goods between the main and satellite plants. Aicomp was able to reliably meet this challenge with its current ERP solution for packaging manufacturers. This gives Hinojosa the ability to configure their products across plants and a modern industry-specific process solution.
"The entire process from quotation to payment is now managed in the ERP system. This standardization will allow us to improve the process and benchmark within the group's plants," says Carlos Asenjo, Hinojosa IT director and project sponsor.
With the go-lives in November 2022 at the plants in Pacs del Penedès (Barcelona, Spain) & Sarriá (Girona, Spain), the new system landscape essentially consists of SAP ERP as the technology base complemented by Aicomp's product configurator “VCPowerPack”, which provides the necessary industry logic and numerous process flow optimizations. The SAP system is complemented by the add-ons "Pricing Portal" and "Tooling Cockpit" from Aicomp for improved pricing and tool management in SAP. In order to also cover the other requirements from production and sales, ArtiosCAD & Automation Engine from Esko as well as OMP are integrated into the ERP system via interfaces.
"By combining SAP and VCPowerPack technology, we are now in a position to face all the challenges of the market. Our transformation highway would not have been possible without it," adds Carlos Asenjo of Hinojosa.
The plan is to use the new solution as a basis for rollout across the group, with the next project being Xàtiva (Valencia) in the period 2023 to 2024. Furthermore, Aicomp is providing ongoing change management support to Hinojosa.
