Ricoh Americas Corporation Receives EMC Global Innovation Award for Government Workflow Solution

Company recognized for best ApplicationXtender Solution at recent EMC 2014 Global Partner Summit

Ricoh Americas Corporation today announced that the EMC Corporation's Information Intelligence Group presented the company with a Global Innovation Award for Best ApplicationXtender Solution, Ricoh Workstyle Innovation: Government, at its recent EMC 2014 Global Partner Summit. The award recognizes excellence and innovation in solution development, design integration, and best practices for implementation and deployment.

Ricoh earned the Global Innovation Award on behalf of its work with government customers. Ricoh provides strategies to help customers with productivity improvements, cost reductions and more efficient handling of paper documentation through its Ricoh eGovernment solution which includes the EMC® ApplicationXtender®, an EMC Certified Solution focused on instant document management.

"At Ricoh, we're focused on information mobility – helping organizations get relevant information to those who need it from anywhere, any time to make critical business decisions," said Kimberly Castagnetta, Director, Global Alliances, Ricoh Americas Corporation. "This is increasingly important as our government customers are awash in an ever-increasing amount of data and requests for information. By working closely with our customers, and our partner EMC, we have been able to streamline the flow of information and help citizens more easily access the content they need – when they need it, from any location."

In one scenario, Ricoh implemented the EMC ApplicationXtender solution in more than 10 of the customer's departments serving more than 300 total users. Most scanning is directly imported to the EMC ApplicationXtender solution. A dynamic online forms solution was also integrated with EMC ApplicationXtender technology and the asset management/help desk solution for the county-wide submission of IT hardware, software requests and purchase requisition approval. Recently the EMC ApplicationXtender Web Access solution has been incorporated to enable citizens to review and print government documents such as deeds, taxes and bills.

"As information grows exponentially, innovation in enterprise content management becomes critical to the health and growth of organizations around the globe," said Karthik Manimozhi, Head of Worldwide Alliances and Channel Sales, EMC's Information Intelligence Group. "Ricoh is not only being recognized as an innovator and valued partner, but as a company bringing significant business value to our customers."

The EMC Certified Solution designation is awarded to partners following rigorous review by EMC Proven Professional Certified Architects and validation by an independent, third-party organization. Each solution receives an in-depth design review focusing on functional completeness, performance and scalability, security, deployability, supportability and interoperability (with Documentum®, Documentum xCP, EMC Captiva® and other EMC products), which instills customer confidence in the solution architecture and foundation.
