Lessebo Paper's CO2 emissions continue to decrease

Lessebo Paper reports a continuous decrease in its CO2 emissions: The company emits only 19 kg of CO2 per tonne of paper. This represents a decrease of 14 per cent compared to the 2020 level, which was already historically low. The values are based on last year's data and have now been published in the environmental statement for 2021.

The Swedish company Lessebo Paper is committed to developing high-performance and environmentally sound paper and board grades for the international market. In an environmental statement, Lessebo Paper regularly publishes its environmental performance and has already reported historically low CO2 emissions in 2020. The company has been producing paper since 1693, making it one of the oldest paper manufacturers in Sweden.
For this year, Lessebo Paper has announced further progress: Only 19 kg of CO2 emissions are needed to produce one tonne of paper. These figures illustrate the company's responsible approach to its emissions to air and water. The data is accredited by an external auditing body and complies with applicable standards.
"Our steps to reduce Lessebo Paper's carbon footprint have proven successful. We are continuously working to further improve our environmental profile," says Eric Sigurdsson, Managing Director of Lessebo Paper. He emphasises: "The industry plays a key role in the search for sustainable solutions to today's climate challenges. Lessebo Paper is one of the leading companies on the path to a sustainable society."
Lessebo Paper also received the Cradle to Cradle Certified® GOLD award this spring for its white ranges Scandia 2000® and Lessebo Design®. These are the first paper products in the world to be certified at Gold level. The Cradle to Cradle
Certified standard is a globally recognised benchmark for safer, more sustainable products manufactured in the spirit of the circular economy. Overall, Lessebo Paper focuses on innovative graphic papers in the premium segment. The company's customers include printers, designers, book publishers and the paper and board converting industry in general.
