Record Sales as Morgana & Plockmatic Restructure

Morgana Systems Ltd, Milton Keynes, the UK's leading manufacturer of equipment for digital finishing, is celebrating a record year in product sales for 2014, as the company also announced changes to its sales structure.

Morgana Systems announced a record sales year for 2014, with turnover increasing by 20% compared to 2013. Commenting on the results, Managing Director Quen Baum said: "The last year presented many challenges for us, but we enjoyed a very successful year in the UK, and are seeing some of our key export markets continuing to recover from low sales after the recession. A lot of this growth is coming from the new range of bookletmakers manufactured by our parent company, Plockmatic. We also had a very strong year with our range of PUR binders."

Restructuring for Further Growth
In addition, the company has announced some restructuring within the combined Morgana and Plockmatic organisation resulting in the development of two business units: Offline Sales and Inline Sales. Ray Hillhouse, currently occupying the position of Sales & Marketing Director for Morgana, will now take the role of Vice President Offline Business Unit. Ray will continue to be based in the UK. Scott Russell will head the Inline and Mailing Business Unit, which will be based at the Plockmatic headquarters in Stockholm.

In addition to his position as Managing Director of Morgana Systems, Quen Baum will become Senior Vice President for Business Development. In this role he will focus on growth through product development and potential technology acquisitions.

Announcing this new structure, Group CEO, Jan Marstorp, said: "Adding the Morgana organisation to the group has doubled the turnover of Plockmatic. We need this new structure to recognise the importance of the offline business to our overall growth plans."

In addition to his previous responsibilities for sales and marketing, Ray Hillhouse will now head up the offline service organisation and the direct sales companies in Scandinavia. Commenting on his new role, Hillhouse said: "We have a great opportunity with the combined product ranges of both companies. We need a strong sales team to maintain this. We have doubled our export sales team in the last year and, with more than 80% of our manufactured products being sold outside the UK, this is key to our business plan."

The Inline Business Unit of Plockmatic, which focuses mainly on the sales of booklet making products to key manufacturers such has Xerox, Ricoh and Sharp, has also enjoyed a record sales year, culminating with Xerox announcing Plockmatic as their Global Innovation Business Partner of the Year for 2014.
