From 12 - 14 November 2019, the industrial printing industry met in Munich at the International Trade Fair for Printing Technology for Applications in Industrial Manufacturing. For a total of 136 exhibitors from 22 countries, this year's InPrint Munich was once again a targeted platform to meet system integrators and users of innovative printing technology from a wide range of manufacturing industries, from the automotive industry, medical technology, interior design and electronics to plastics processing, textiles, packaging and many more.
The 2,755 trade visitors from 60 countries used the show to look for presses, print heads, components, inks and liquids, UV technologies, drying & curving systems and services for printing various surfaces, materials and shapes. The majority of the visitors came from Germany; other important visitor countries were Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, France, Poland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. Visitors from outside Europe came mainly from Japan, the USA and China.
"This year's InPrint Munich clearly showed that the industrial printing sector has evolved and is moving in the right direction. The community has left the experimental phase and is now presenting concrete solutions," explains Nicola Hamann, Managing Director of the organiser, Mack Brooks Exhibitions. "Practical applications, specially tailored systems and profitable business models were the focus of interest for exhibitors and visitors alike. Print-Tech suppliers met with integrators and production specialists looking for practical solutions to optimize their manufacturing processes, realize new business ideas or serve new market segments".
The technical exchange to integrate complex printing projects into the production process was also a focal point outside the exhibitor stands. The three-day conference consisted of two stages, each with a technical and application focus. More than 70 speakers presented user reports, technical lectures and panel discussions. The new Consultancy Corner was a great success. Around 40 participants made use of the new service. In one-on-one discussions, technical consultants offered free orientation and technical support for the integration of print applications in the respective production environment.
The first evaluation of the trade fair survey showed that both exhibitors and visitors particularly appreciated the focused trade fair profile, the high quality of the exhibits as well as the comprehensive programme of the trade conference and the expertise of the trade fair participants.
Many exhibiting companies mentioned that they were able to make new business contacts and have intensive discussions with customers. They emphasised the professional qualifications of the trade fair audience and the innovative technology-based concept of the event.
The visitor survey showed that visitors came from a wide range of industrial manufacturing and printing services sectors. Visitors from the printing sector were specialists in digital, screen, inkjet, flexo and specialty printing. Visitors from industrial production came from the packaging, plastics, electronics, automotive, surface technology, textiles, fashion and accessories, glass and ceramics, flooring and interior decoration, nameplates and front panels, food and beverages, medical technology, consumer goods and many other sectors. Visitors searched for both functional and decorative printing applications.
InPrint returns to Munich in 2021.
Next year, InPrint will again be held in Italy. From 22 to 24 October 2020, InPrint Milan will be held for the first time together with Viscom Italia, the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication.
