WAN-IFRA honours the world’s top digital media projects

Eleven new members, including eight women executives, were elected to serve on WAN-IFRA’s Supervisory Board of Directors at its General Assembly of Members on 29 June 2023. During the same meeting, Fernando de Yarza was re-elected President of WAN-IFRA. Meeting during the 74th World News Media Congress in Taipei, the Board of the World Association of News Publishers issued five press freedom resolutions highlighting issues of major concern.

Copenhagen to host WAN-IFRA's World News Media Congress in 2024

The World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) has announced that the 75th World News Media Congress will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark from 27 to 29 May 2024, in partnership with Danske Medier, the Association of the Danish Media.
The congress, which draws together media leaders, journalists and editors from around the world, will take place at the Tivoli Congress Center.

Grow your audiences - WAN-IFRA launches new round of Tables Stakes Europe

WAN-IFRA is launching the fourth edition of Table Stakes Europe in partnership with the Google News Initiative. This performance-driven programme, focused on change management, is a collaboration with Table Stakes architect Doug Smith. The programme will once again welcome twenty-four European news enterprises participating in 2023.

WAN-IFRA strengthens its presence in Spain and Latin America

WAN-IFRA announces the strengthening of its presence in Spain and Latin America. The announcement comes as the association is preparing to host more than 900 news media executives and editors at its annual World News Media Congress, which will be held in Zaragoza, Spain, from 28-30 September.

Eight news organisations will participate in the new WAN-IFRA business innovation programme in Latin America

News organisations from Colombia, Mexico, Panama and Uruguay will be part of the first "Newsroom & Business Transformation Program" in Latin America. After the successful launches in Asia and the Middle East last year, WAN-IFRA is expanding the programme to the Latin American region, with the support of the Facebook Journalism Project.
