Konica Minolta Receives ISO 14001 Certification

Konica Minolta has successfully passed the environmental audit according to the ISO 14001 standard for Germany and Austria. The service provider was awarded ISO 14001 status for both countries by DEKRA Certification GmbH on August 10, 2020. The certification represents another important element in Konica Minolta's environmental strategy under its Eco Vision 2050 and underscores its customer-centric approach to sustainability.

"I am very proud that Konica Minolta is now ISO 14001 certified in both countries. I am convinced that sustainability is the key to a secure and successful future for companies," says Joerg Hartmann, President Konica Minolta Germany and Austria.
DEKRA Certification GmbH carried out the ISO 14001 certification at Konica Minolta in Germany and Austria in the course of about 17 audit days. In addition to reviewing the newly established environmental management system, the focus was also on auditing the environmentally relevant procedures and processes, which were checked for effectiveness and efficiency.
In addition, the environmental goals that the company has set itself to support compliance in the areas of waste management and occupational health and safety and to reduce environmental pollution were examined in more detail. "Even under the special conditions of the pandemic, thanks to the very good organization of the audit and the professional support, a smooth process could be ensured. The quality requirements are met at the highest level. We warmly congratulate Konica Minolta and its dedicated team on the successful certification according to ISO 14001," says Dr. Rolf Krökel, Managing Director of DEKRA Certification GmbH.
Customer-Centric Sustainability Approach
As a socially and ecologically responsible company, sustainable business practices and the best possible environmental protection have long been important areas of activity for Konica Minolta, which are anchored in its Eco Vision 2050. Konica Minolta has set itself the goal of reducing its CO2 emissions by 80% by 2050 compared to 2005. By 2019, the company has already achieved a 49% reduction. The ISO 14001 certification focuses on reducing emissions, waste and wastewater, saving costs through the targeted use of resources, and improving legal compliance.
Konica Minolta also helps its customers achieve their own sustainability goals. "First and foremost, with the intelligently networked workplace, we offer future-proof infrastructures and smart cloud services to support our customers on their way from paper-based tasks to efficient digital workflows," Hartmann continues. This offering is supplemented by special programs for reducing, avoiding or offsetting CO2 emissions, such as bizhub Eco, Clean Planet, Carbon Neutrality or Indoor Air Quality.
The ISO 14001 standard
ISO 14001 is the globally accepted and applied standard for environmental management systems. It defines concrete requirements for an environmental management system with which an organization can improve its environmental performance, meet legal and other obligations and achieve environmental goals. "Our environmental management system is subject to continuous development, and the ISO 14001 review is a great help to us in this continuous improvement process," concludes Daniela Rak, Team Manager Compliance at Konica Minolta Germany & Austria.
