Innovative product extension meets current requirements of sublimation printing

Sappi sets a new milestone in the textile printing industry with Transjet Tacky Industrial and Basejet.
Sappi, a world leader in sustainable wood fibre products and solutions, offers Transjet Tacky Industrial, a coated sublimation paper for digital transfer printing that has been specially developed for high-speed inkjet printing on highly elastic textiles.

Also new in the portfolio is the uncoated sublimation paper Basejet, which is designed for digital printing of fashion and home textiles, especially for light-coloured designs.
Transjet Tacky Industrial: immediate tack effect, high ink transfer, fast ink drying; no ghosting on elastic textiles thanks to reversible tack
Basejet: Continuous print quality for bright designs, fast ink drying, very fast transfer process
With Transjet Tacky Industrial, highly elastic fabrics can be printed on industrial high-speed machines that work with a higher glycol content, such as the print heads from Kyocera. The paper is first printed with the desired image or pattern, which is then transferred to the elastic polyester fabric by heat and pressure.
Long-awaited solution for the textile industry
For the textile industry, which has to adapt to frequently changing trends, the newly developed sublimation paper offers many advantages: As it is suitable for use on high-speed digital presses, significantly more designs can be printed in the same period of time than was previously possible on plotters. Thanks to the special heat-reactive coating, the paper adheres to materials with a very high stretch content, while the reversible tack prevents distorted images. Transjet Tacky Industrial can absorb a large amount of ink, making the printed designs stand out better with a strong colour saturation. The design remains clearly visible even when the fabric is stretched to the maximum, which is often the case, especially with sportswear.
Sappi has also thought about the environment with Transjet Tacky Industrial. The paper is made from pulp that is 100 percent recyclable, and all versions are FSC-certified. Transjet Tacky Industrial is available in 100g/m² in plotter and jumbo rolls up to a width of 3.20 metres. In the near future, the product will also be expanded to include 70 g/m².
Basejet especially for light designs
Sappi is also expanding its portfolio with the uncoated sublimation paper Basejet, which is an additional solution for digital printing of fashion and home textiles in continuous print quality. The uncoated paper is especially designed for light designs and for cost-driven production processes.
With grammages of 20, 30, 40 and 50 g/m², Basejet offers considerable basis weight advantages and enables the reduction of downtimes and short transfer times. Basejet contains 100 per cent recyclable pulp and is FSC certified. The sublimation paper is available in all standard roll widths up to 3.2 metres and in various diameters.
