Chicago Tribune Media Group Appoints Tom Conradi as Publisher/General Manager of Chicago Magazine

Chicago Tribune Media Group today announced the appointment of Tom Conradi as Publisher/General Manager of Chicago magazine. Conradi, an accomplished sales executive, has been serving as interim Publisher for the past five months, while maintaining his role as Director of National Sales and Development for the magazine. Conradi will be responsible for the strategic direction of Chicago magazine and will oversee all day-to-day business operations.

"Tom's leadership of Chicago magazine and accomplishments leading the sales team - combined with his career expertise in digital and print media, will suit him well in this position," said Joseph Schiltz, Chicago Tribune Media Group Senior Vice President of Marketing and Targeted Media.

For almost 45 years, Chicago magazine has been a premier resource for residents and visitors alike, sparking intelligent conversation throughout the city through award-winning, in-depth journalism. Chicago's editorial team took home seven awards this past year, including the 2013 Lisagor Awards for Best Political Reporting, Best Feature Story, and Best Photography.

"I am proud to represent the Chicago brand and lead a talented team of dedicated individuals," Conradi said. "We are primed for a great year ahead, as we look to expand our video capabilities and custom publishing, as well as focus on new branded experiences with Chicago."

As Director of Advertising, Conradi was responsible for overseeing Chicago magazine's national and regional sales efforts, marketing and business development strategy, as well as the day-to-day operations of the Chicago sales staff and its network of independent sales contractors across the country. Prior to Chicago, Conradi oversaw the Chicago Tribune's Classified Division for six years and was a Division Leader for the Pioneer Press suburban newspapers, which was recently acquired into Chicago Tribune Media Group's suburban portfolio.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Columbia College Chicago in marketing communications and advertising.
