SGIA Expo looms large for Colter & Peterson

Having struck a chord with the audience while attracting better than expected booth traffic and inquiries at last year's show, Colter & Peterson (booth 4016) believes this year's motto that "Everything goes; anything is possible", is quite accurate. North America's largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment will showcase their large format capabilities when the SGIA Expo convenes October 22-24 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.


P'S network successful with POLAR PACE

P'S network, located in Shizuoka Japan, is not a usual printing house. They are very successful in selling sales promotion materials via Internet. Part of their success is the POLAR CuttingSystem PACE. This system is integrated into the digital workflow via Compucut® which streamlines their production.
P'S network is not selling printing, but sales promotion products via Internet.

Cold foils artistically employed

Cold foils from Kurz make a glittering appearance in the new design box of the Italian printing and publishing house Tipografia Valdostana. As in the previous year, this printing shop will be presenting its customers with a new and comprehensive collection of cold foil applications. The new box contains sample packaging, foil-finished notepads as well as brochures with color tables, application tips and numerous examples of sophisticated cold foil designs.

Heidelberg Stahlfolder PFX Feeder Technology Earns 2014 InterTechTM Technology Award

Printing Industries of America has honored Heidelberg's Stahlfolder PFX (Pallet Feeder eXtended) Feeder Technology with a prestigious 2014 InterTech™ Technology Award.

"Lean manufacturing principles are more important in printing today than ever before, and the finishing department is rightfully acknowledged as a full participant in the drive to reduce costs, minimize waste and generate higher profits," said Juergen Grimm, president of Heidelberg USA.

Leonhard Kurz takes Kama on board

The DM Liner for metallic effects in digital printing is now also being built in Dresden.

The coating specialist Leonhard Kurz has sought out reinforcements to help it construct its DM Liner finishing machines. In addition to Kurz's traditional machine manufacturing partners, the DM Liner will now also be constructed by Kama. "Kama is an expert in finishing machines and possesses comprehensive know-how in digital finishing.

Colter & Peterson signs pact with Function Control to distribute new line of paper counting machines in U.S.

Colter & Peterson, North America's largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment, and Function Control, a leading European company in optical sheet counting and ream marking for paper, board, corrugated and other industries, have reached an agreement where C&P will distribute a new line of Function Control's paper counting machines for the offset printing market in the United States.

Modern Litho Ensures Continued Growth with High-Speed, KH-82 Stahlfolder with New PFX Feeder from Heidelberg

Since installing a high-performance, pallet-fed Stahlfolder KH-82 combination folding system from Heidelberg earlier this year, Modern Litho (Jefferson City, MO) has enjoyed a folding department free of bottlenecks, together with substantially increased speeds in folding signature work. It is the second U.S. installation of Heidelberg's ultra-fast, ultra-flexible signature-folding machine, as well as the second to be equipped with Heidelberg's high-speed, PFX pallet feeder, recipient of a 2014 InterTechTM Technology Award from Printing Industries of America.

First POLAR N PRO cutter installed in Volga region

The new cutter POLAR N 92 Pro with stack lift and a unique WiMotion knock up block was put into operation in April at a start-up print shop called Duprint. First results show boost in productivity and also turnover increase.
Duprint is a young company headed by sisters Olga and Elena Konopleva. The print shop specializes in label and folding carton production. Also, they produce manually laminated catalogs in A2 format here — an uncommon work for a print shop at the present day. Looking forward, Olga and Elena are willing to achieve a high level of automation in production to open up new lucrative segments of the printing markets.

Hammerer Planen GmbH invests in Zünd for quality, flexibility and customer proximity

Hammerer Planen GmbH is an Austrian family business with 18 employees across two locations. The company specialises in producing and delivering premium customised tarpaulin solutions, which include vehicle covers, leisure and circus tents, pool covers, crash protection for ski slopes, technical hose covers and bespoke membrane constructions for architects. The company's customer base comprise the industrial, commercial and leisure markets, with the majority based in German-speaking countries, Norway, United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia.

Colter & Peterson prepares for Graph Expo with new, efficient Microcut® and other control systems

Stealing a page from the book on giving the crowd what it wants, Colter & Peterson (booth 3617) is preparing to do so for the upcoming Graph Expo show. Four Microcut® automated backgauge programs for paper cutters, including two making their North American debut, will be joined by the C&P Microsystems B-65 control system and a Saber® 116cm (45") paper cutter at McCormick Place in Chicago from September 28-October 1.
