The BOD2 printing in Florida, US

COBOD continues to expand by selling its BOD 2 printers and printing complex buildings and wind turbine towers worldwide. Printed Farms, a company located in Wellington, FL, partnered with COBOD to advance the construction of buildings in Florida. With the BOD 2, Printed Farms plans to create more sustainable buildings in Florida and build more hurricane and flood-resistant buildings.

GE puts COBOD’s 3D concrete printing technology on the table for President Biden and the World

President Joe Biden hosted the Climate Summit in April, and GE, one of COBOD’s partners, presented their work in front of President Biden and other leaders from 16 different countries. Danielle Merfeld, GE Renewable Energy CTO adressed the Leaders Summit on Climate organized by the White House.

Habitat for Humanity uses COBOD’s 3D construction printer to print affordable housing in Arizona

In the face of an acute affordable housing shortage, Habitat is looking for game changing scalable and affordable home-ownership solutions. The lack of affordable housing in the Phoenix metro is at an all-time high and Habitat continues to explore innovative ways to address the critical issue.

3D printed concrete formwork

Create complex concrete formwork faster and cheaper with digital production
Concrete formwork in construction can account for 40-60% of the total budget, especially for complex shapes like curved concrete formwork. Some designs such as organic geometries, double curved surfaces and voids are simply not feasible as they require highly skilled labour to produce bespoke formwork, resulting in high costs, long lead times and wasted materials.

3Strands Announces Country’s First 3D-Printed Homes for Sale

Multi-home Mainstream Housing Development Leverages ICON’s Proprietary 3D Printing Technology to Construct Two to Four Bedroom Homes in Austin, TX; Move-in Ready this Summer

The Kansas City developer, 3Strands, today announced that the next evolution of homebuilding has launched with the company’s first multi-home project: America’s first 3D printed homes for sale.

Artemis Generation Students Design 3D-printed Rocket Pad For Lunar Missions with NASA & ICON

ICON’s Technology Delivers World’s First 3D-printed Rocket Pad; One Step Closer Towards Lunar Infrastructure

From 3D-printed homes on Earth to the development of space-based construction systems for the Moon, ICON announced today its proprietary technology has delivered the world’s first 3D-printed lunar launch and landing pad at a Texas Military Department location, Camp Swift, just outside of Austin, TX.

3D printing for sustainable architecture: Zero-Wastage in construction, but perfectly shaped, fast and efficient

3D printing technologies make it easier for the construction industry to adapt to changing conditions. The AI-Table project stands as a true symbol. Rising raw material prices, fragile supply chains, growing time pressure and maximum environmental awareness:

Restoration using 3D printing

For fifteen years the team from the Egyptian Museum in Berlin dug in the Sudanese desert and restored historically valuable items. The exhibition “Naga City of Kings” at the Kunstforum of the Berliner Volksbank Foundation now presents the impressive results of this work. Visitors can even glimpse an actual model of the famous Hathor Chapel, which was produced by voxeljet using the 3D printing method Binder Jetting.

“From the shapeless earth to the earth as house shaped”.

The challenge of TECLA, the eco-sustainable 3D printed habitat, took form.

WASP (Italy’s pioneering specialists in 3D printing) has completed the printing phase of the TECLA supporting structure, the first and unique fully 3D printed construction based on natural materials and made with multiple 3D printers operating at the same time.

3D printing makes complex concrete formwork more efficient

A first-class reference: DOKA uses voxeljet for the construction of complex formworks
During the construction of the headquarters of the Sächsische Aufbaubank in Leipzig, a semi-spiral staircase with intermediate landing was to be erected, which is mounted on a supporting wall. In order to give it a gentle and even curve, a highly precise concrete formwork was required.

3D printing of complex geometric shapes for the construction industry

Various cooperation projects have already proven the effectiveness and efficiency of using 3D-printed formwork.
One of the first projects took place in cooperation with Züblin AG. For the "Stuttgart 21" project - in which Züblin AG is involved in several construction phases - columns with goblet shoulders are to be erected in the underground station. The special feature of this complex form is the double-curved surfaces in the upper section. A hybrid solution consisting of conventional formwork and moulds from 3D printing seemed to make sense here - also in terms of cost.
