Empack Zürich: Reliable marking of packaging with industrial inkjet printers from Leibinger
If packaging is to be marked, e.g. with a best before date or a batch number, user-friendly, sustainable and perfectly fitting solutions must be developed. At Empack in Zurich, Leibinger will present its inkjet printers, which are manufactured exclusively in Germany and already include all common interfaces for packaging marking in the Basic Line. Thanks to Leibinger's nozzle sealing technology Sealtronic, matching inks and sophisticated technologies, the industrial inkjet printers ensure maximum reliability and user-friendliness and thus a measurable increase in productivity overall.
The industrial inkjet printers from Leibinger mark contactless, during the running production, all conceivable materials with fixed and variable data, e.g. with the best before date, LOT numbers, QR codes or barcodes.
The core of Leibinger's innovative printing technology is the unique hydraulic system with Sealtronic - a fully automatic nozzle sealing technology that seals the complete ink circuit airtight during production breaks. With this development by Leibinger, common problems of conventional inkjet printers for industrial use are solved at the source. The reliability of the marking is significantly increased and labor-intensive cleaning of the print heads is no longer necessary. Dried ink and clogged nozzles are a thing of the past.
For efficient production according to Industry 4.0 standards, Leibinger offers four product lines and can thus select the right CIJ printer for every customer requirement. The Entry Line includes the JET One, a very attractively priced entry-level system for packaging marking. Leibinger does not make any concessions in terms of quality, even with the entry-level models. Even the Entry Line is equipped with the patented Leibinger hydraulic system and Sealtronic and thus offers the typical productivity advantages of a Leibinger printer.
Those who need more interfaces for smart production are perfectly served by the Leibinger Basic Line or the models in the Universal Line. With the JET3up PRO, the latter also has a dust and splash-proof model that meets the IP65 protection class. Thanks to the high-quality stainless steel housing, this model is also used in productions with high hygiene regulations. For particularly fast production lines, Leibinger also has a High Speed Line in its program: This prints legible codes at line speeds of 1000 m/min.
Special FDA-compliant inks are also available for the Leibinger inkjet printers. Thus, different packaging materials made of plastic, cardboard, metal or glass can be printed. This ensures food safety when the marking comes into contact with the product during and after production. Leibinger also offers special food inks for egg shells or even for direct printing of food, e.g. for advertising campaigns.
