10,000 Food packaging without plastic

FLYERALARM Packaging supports plastic-free Streetfood Festival and opens up new market

The business with plastic-free food packaging is picking up speed: The packaging specialists at FLYERALARM Packaging in Greußenheim near Würzburg, Germany, are the first and so far only online supplier to offer food packaging without plastic and are experiencing high demand for this product innovation. A few weeks after the introduction of the fully compostable snack boxes, burger boxes, conical bags and much more, production is running at full speed and FLYERALARM Packaging is tapping into a new customer target group: the company used around 10,000 plastic-free food packaging products as a partner at a regional streetfood festival with 15,000 visitors, which completely dispensed with plastic under the motto "#Tschüssplastik".
"Tanja Hammerl, Managing Director of FLYERALARM Packaging, explains the success of the packaging innovation from Lower Franconia as follows: "For restaurateurs who want to operate sustainably and responsibly, for example, pay attention to fair trade, prefer to buy from the region and are committed to preventing food waste, the plastic-coated food cartons for the to-go sector have always been a drop of bitterness. FLYERALARM Packaging has obviously hit a nerve here and is closing a gap." In addition to retailers, individual restaurants, food trucks, start-ups and modern delivery services are also showing interest in the packaging, which thanks to a barrier layer based on natural raw materials can also be used to transport moist and fatty foods such as juicy burgers and fries in a protected way and present them attractively in the look and feel of their own brand. In the field of tension between sustainability and convenience, the packaging innovation from Lower Franconia, which combines high-tech and natural raw materials, is a forward-looking solution.
Plastic-free festivals with FLYERALARM Packaging
The food packaging from FLYERALARM Packaging is also an interesting alternative for festival organisers, who often produce mountains of plastic waste. As FLYERALARM Packaging's enthusiastic customers, about two catering entrepreneurs from the Würzburg area recently set the pace: under the motto #Tschüssplastik, the third Marktheidenfelder Street Food Festival (14th/15th September), which attracted more than 15,000 visitors, no plastic cutlery or crockery went over the counters of the food trucks and stands. FLYERALARM Packaging was the most important partner of the environmentally conscious initiative. For both days of the festival, FLYERALARM Packaging produced and made available 2,500 burger packages, 5,000 snack trays and 2,500 conical bags without plastic and printed with the festival logo and motto (#bowl plastic) for the food trucks and stands.
After use, the clever food packaging from Greußenheim could be used as waste paper for paper recycling or in compost, where it decomposes completely after a few weeks or months, depending on the composting technology used. In addition to packaging, FLYERALARM Packaging also supplied plastic-free advertising materials such as banners (based on cardboard), printed tarpaulins for building fences and posters. In addition, a plastic-free version of a garbage can (the "clean man") was used, in which there was hardly any plastic waste on the two festival days - a quite unusual sight at a festival. Tanja Hammerl: "The Streetfood Festival Marktheidenfeld without plastic was a complete success, we were able to minimize the usual consumption at these events. We would also be very happy if other festivals would follow this good example. We have the technology and the know-how to say 'goodbye, plastic' at every festival counter in Germany".
Sustainable and individual packaging, even for small runs
FLYERALARM Packaging responds to the increased demand for personal advice and product competence in the packaging sector. FLYERALARM Packaging produces from a minimum quantity of 50 pieces, making it ideal for snack bars, kiosks, food trucks and small and medium-sized catering companies that want to present their brand professionally. In addition, the focus is on sustainable packaging solutions. Already today, all papers used at FLYERALARM Packaging are recyclable.
