Paris Packaging Week shines a spotlight on packaging excellence as prestigious trio of awards now open for entries

Packaging design and innovation excellence take centre stage in Paris with the year’s best solutions set to compete for recognition at the ADF, PCD and PLD Innovation Awards

Easyfairs, the organiser of the upcoming Paris Packaging Week 2024, has announced its prestigious series of award events will be returning to the show in January – and entries are now open.

The awards – the ADF, PCD, and PLD Innovation Awards – have long been recognised as beacons of creativity and innovation across the packaging industry. As a result, they have become a seal of quality, and are among the most prestigious and competitive prizes in the sector.
Each of the three awards is open to any relevant product that has been launched in the European or international market in 2023, and with four new categories open across three awards, is set to be the biggest showcase of packaging excellence yet.
The ADF Innovation Awards promotes technological innovations in the aerosol and dispensing system sector. It rewards innovation across 8 categories and this year features a new category – FEA Aerosol Technology of the Year. This year, the ADF Innovation Awards is also proud to welcome FEA General Secretary Alain d’Haese as president of the jury.
The PCD Innovation Awards are open to excellent solutions designed for perfume, cosmetics and personal care products, and again feature a revised Limited Edition category that recognises both high-end and mass market limited editions, among a total of 10 categories.
The PLD Innovation Awards, meanwhile, shine a spotlight on the always inventive world of premium and luxury drinks. This award features 10 categories, including a new category, Mass Market Innovation, which is exclusively open to products that retail at €15 or less.
Submissions will be judged by a panel of packaging luminaries and experts from beauty, drinks and FMCG brands, design agencies, associations and media.
Frédéric Dreux, R&D Packaging Leader at Unilever Prestige confirmed the transformational impact the awards can have on a winner, after his team’s REN Clean Skincare won a 2022 PCD Innovation Award in the Skincare - Premium category. He said: “Firstly, the recognition is great for the team, who get to celebrate their success. That success can serve as inspiration for future projects, as recognition from an expert panel shows we’re going in the right direction.
“It is also invaluable in promoting our work with suppliers and solution makers, as those partnerships are publicised. This naturally makes us more attractive to prospective partners, too.”
Christelle Anya, Content & Community Director at Paris Packaging Week, who manages the Awards, said: “The ADF, PCD and PLD Innovation Awards recognise the very best examples of packaging innovation in the beauty, drinks and aerosols sectors. Winning an award is a great achievement for any brand or manufacturer; while entering is a great opportunity to showcase work to an extremely influential group of packaging experts. I can’t wait to see the entries this year!"
Entries are free. For the ADF and PLD Innovation Awards, entries are open to brands, packaging manufacturers and design agencies, while for the PCD Innovation Awards entries are open only to brands. The deadline for entries is 13 November, with the winners revealed live in a special ceremony at Paris Packaging Week, held on 17 & 18 January at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
